王文杰(Harry V. Wang)教授本科毕业于台湾国立大学，硕士及博士均毕业于美国约翰霍普金斯大学(Johns Hopkins University)，现为美国维吉尼亚海洋科学研究所(Virginia Institute of Marine Science)教授。王文杰(Harry V. Wang)教授主要从事河口、海岸带物理过程及其传输特性研究，现着力于计算机数值模拟研究。他的研究领域包括：
1）coastal and estuarine physical processes and the consequence of their transportproperties; in particular, the transports driven by wind, wave, tide, density and affected by the Coriolis force and turbulentmixing.
2）the use of numerical computational methods to simulate the current, water level,salinity, temperature as well as their coupled environmental conditions such as water quality, sediment and larvaltransport.
